Gamestec Leisure Limited is the UK’s leading and longest established national operator of gaming and amusement technology, operating a vast range of machines across a broad mix of markets.
Gamestec has over 50 years experience in the gaming and amusement machine business. With offices across the UK, over 1000 employees, providing operating services to some 40,000 machines, Gamestec is one of the largest operators in the country.
Professional Computing Solutions faced stiff opposition but have been chosen to support and maintain Gamestec`s Service Call Management (SCM) and associated systems. The system is used by call centre agents and over 300 field based engineers.
The system currently runs on Hewlett Packard Unix hardware and has an interface to the TBS Task Master solution.
Calls generated with the SCM system are passed via a Vodafone GPRS network to PDA devices carried by field based engineers, the engineers attend the locations they been asked to and carry out the work they have been instructed to complete.
Once completed an electronic record of the work is passed from the PDA over the GPRS network and back into the SCM.
The status of the messages to and from the engineer can be viewed at any stage and details of when the engineer viewed the message, when he arrived on site and when the call has been completed are all available in real time.
Professional Computing Solutions were chosen to support the system because of their extensive knowledge of HP-UX, Windows, GPRS, C and a thorough understanding of mobile work force processes.
Professional Computing Solutions will be providing support to Gamestec 364 days a year from 8.30am until 10pm.
“PCS have provided exceptional support to Gamestec embedding themselves within the IT service culture and processes as well as being a strong partner for managing change on what is a complex technical landscape” – David Johnson, IS and Customer Services Director.
